Payments solutions firm Mosambee has announced that Ashish Agrawal, Chief Technology Officer at Micromax has joined its board of directors as an independent board member.
Ashish holds a Bachelor’s Degree from IIT Delhi and a Master’s in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University, New York. He has over 16 years of experience in Web Services, Mobile, e-Commerce and payments.Prior to joining Micromax, he has served as the CTO at Sirqul, a mobile and cloud services company and had a 14 years stint at Amazon (including Amazon Pay) in software development, product development and technology leadership roles.
Alok Arora, co-founder and CEO of Mosambee, said, Ashish’s global experience will help us get the right perspective on scaling-up our solutions for Indian as well as global markets. In March 2015, Mosambee had raised an undisclosed amount of funding from Rajasthan Venture Capital Fund(RVCF) and their existing investors, SIDBI Venture Capital There is huge growth potential in payment processing services and Mosambee is all set to grow fast in mPOS and allied value added services given its management team with proven track record. Association of Ashish Agarwal would further add to the strength of the company, said Mr. Girish Gupta, CEO RVCF.
Mosambee is a Mumbai based mobile payments firm. The flagship product of the company is an mPOS solution for which the company currently partners with HDFC, Yes and IDBI bank, to enable them to leverage this platform for their Merchant Acquiring businesses. With almost 10,000 touch points, Mosambee is now expanding aggressively within and outside of India. The mPOS solution has also been successfully rolled-out at Qatar and Mauritius. In December 2013 Mosambee was the first Asian company to successfully complete VISA ADVT certification for its mPOS solution.
The company has recently launched their universal wallet acceptance solution – Mosambee.Cash. This solution enables merchants to accept any wallet preferred by the customer. The solution can be seamlessly integrated with third-party applications and works without friction in real-life payment use-cases.
