Stripe provides a payment gateway that allows both private individuals and businesses to accept payments over the Internet. Stripe focuses on providing the technical, fraud prevention, and banking infrastructure required to operate online payment systems. In October 2017, Stripe Atlas added a tool to set up stock issues for founding teams as it builds its business services. In July 2017, It launched global support for Alipay and WeChat Pay. In January 2018, the company decided to withdraw the bitcoin payment option in their payment gateway.

The company also recently launched a service called 'Atlas' that lets foreign entrepreneurs easily set up a US business entity and get a US bank account as well as a tax ID number – this enables businesses around the world to start using Stripe before the company launches in their country. Also, in 2018, the company launched three new high-profile products, including credit-card-issuing technology, point-of-sale software, and a billing platform for subscription businesses.
