TRINE uses crowdfunding to finance off-grid solar energy in rural regions of developing countries. The loans that are financed fall into three different categories of solar installations solar lamps, Solar Home Systems and Mini-grids. Solar lamps: includes anything from solar lanterns with built-in phone charging capacity for household use to specially designed solar lanterns for a specific economic purpose. Solar Home Systems are small, modularized systems that are installed directly in households and small businesses. Solar home systems (SHSs) come in various sizes and support a wide range of capabilities such as light, phone charging and radio's or TV's. Mini-grids: These are local solar installations that provide clean, safe energy to entire communities. Investors on platform must be at least 18 years old but not from the United States. The investor has to choose a campaign in terms of impact, location, size and risk and invest minimum €25. This money will be transferred into an E-Wallet, where it will be held until the campaign becomes fully funded. It's an escrow account legally owned by you and managed by BNP Paribas in France. All repayments will be paid back to that account. Once a campaign is fully funded investment becomes part of a loan to Solar Partner. If the campaign is not fully funded money stays in E-Wallet for to withdraw or reinvest.

REVENUE MODEL

The company generates revenue by charging 5% fee for sucessfully funding. It also earns money through annual fees from our communication partners, who are large companies and organisations.
