A big shift from traditional POS to mPOS systems is taking place as we speak. A recent study described the trend as. POS market is shrinking by 2.5% while mPOS market is grwoing at 9.2% in the US. On Nov 5th 2013, another mobile services provider Stratix announced a partnership with Ingenico to provide merchants with a completely managed mobile point of sale system.
Stratix is an outsourcing Managed Mobile Services provider. The company was recognized in Gartner’s First Magic Quadrant for Managed Mobility Services. Ingenico is a POS giant and has more than 20 Mn terminals in over 125 countries. The company employs around 4,500 persons globally.
The combined offering of Stratix and Ingenico claims to provide merchants and businesses with a completely managed mPOS. The platform comes with a support solution option which helps manage ‘per device’ monthly payment plan.
