Revel Systems®, the world's leading iPad Point of Sale platform, announced that Legends Hospitality, which manages merchandising and restaurant services for major sporting venues, has selected Revel’s iPad Point of Sale to be deployed across its retail establishments and concession stands throughout the Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS). Revel’s iPad Point of Sale powered the retail and concession outlets during the 2015 Verizon IndyCar Series, a 17-race tour that included the highly-popular 99th Indianapolis 500 Mile Race in May
The Indianapolis Motor Speedway is considered to be the highest-capacity sports venue in the world, capable of seating approximately 400,000 patrons with its combined permanent and infield seating. More than 200 Revel iPad Point of Sale terminals, comprised of new iPad Airs and peripherals such as credit card swipes, printers and cash drawers, will be deployed.
Additionally, the IMS is deploying Revel Ethernet Connect™, a proprietary cabled solution which allows enterprises to utilize a wired, always-on Ethernet connection to power their Revel iPad Point of Sale as an alternative to WiFi connectivity. The Revel Ethernet Connect cabled solution brings the first-ever failover connection to Revel’s iPad Point of Sale in enterprise deployments, including failover from WiFi to Ethernet or from Ethernet to WiFi, and from one router to another. Revel’s groundbreaking technology is patent-pending; the company is the first iPad Point of Sale provider to develop and deploy a wired Ethernet connectivity solution such as Revel Ethernet Connect.

Legends Hospitality selected Revel’s iPad Point of Sale based on its robust cloud management console features, and well as its intuitive front-end that could be quickly adopted by volunteers and stadium personnel. Revel’s open Application Programming Interface (API) was the final factor in Legend Hospitality’s selection as it allows them to fully customize the POS systems to meet their specific business needs.
