Nagarajan Rao: I am the CEO/Co-founder of Diburze, and I have been in the B2B payments space for over 15+ years. I was the founding member of Transpay, early-stage Director at Earthport, traded FX at Deutsche Bank’s G10 desk, Risk at B2B payments company Travelex & HiFX. I am an expert in Marketplace payments with a specialty in B2B/P low-value payments.
NR: Disburze is a bi-directional cross-border payments platform that directly connects into clearing systems globally. We offer businesses & financial institutions a solution to bypass the 43-year-old SWIFT wire network. Our robust, yet simple API enables lower costs, increase in efficiency, and transparent service levels.
NR: Emerging market-based businesses are severely underserved in their ability to compete in the global payments landscape. We see no viable solutions available to them besides the traditional bank wire network. Large and local banks charge high fees, unfavorable FX rates, and provide little transparency in transaction service levels.
NR: Currently in our phase 1 rollout, we are selling to enterprise clients and financial institutions. Our phase 2 expansion will include a self-service, web/mobile-based model for any business that needs to make payments.
NR: There is a wide range of competitors in the cross-border B2B payments space including large and local banks, FinTech upstarts, money transfer operators, FX specialists, and payment services providers. We have noticed that the niche we are developing solutions for has not been addressed by the current landscape.
NR: We see the cross-border B2B market segment still in its early stages, and we believe that in the next 3–5 years many SME will take notice and want a more flexible payment solution besides their bank as they expand their business globally.
NR: We will continue to expand our proprietary payment network and continue to build our client onboarding.
