5. - Five UK banks sign up for mobile payments with Zapp

Five UK banks will adopt the Zapp payment app for smartphones and tablets, giving customers the ability to pay in shops and online without cash or credit cards.

The first lenders to publicly back the service are HSBC, First Direct, Nationwide, Santander and Metro Bank. All five have said that they will be on board when Zapp launches in the autumn.
