SUMMARY

FinTech exits are very important for founders, teams, investors, and the entire ecosystem. FinTech exits take place largely in two formats: IPO and M&A. The FinTech Exits Report analyzes IPOs from January 1, 2019, to July 15, 2020, and M&A deals from January 1, 2020, to July 31, 2020. The report covers FinTech exits by value & volume, segment analysis, timelines, and key players.

  • 34 FinTech IPOs took place between January 2019 and July 2020.

  • 279 acquisitions took place so far in 2020 (as of July 31). A total of 36 deals took place just last month.

  • There was no significant slowdown with regard to deals in 2020, even during the COVID lockdowns. The decline in the number of deals in March and April soon recovered with a jump in May.
