Subway

Subway has more restaurants than any other food chain in the world. As a global leader in quick service restaurants, feeding millions of customers is a skill that literally requires quick service. With over 27,000 U.S. locations, the Subway App was released in the states in early 2015, making eating on-the-go simply APPetizing.

On July 29th 2015, PayPal announced their Merchant partnership with Subway “New SUBWAY® App Showcases Value of PayPal and Paydiant Collaboration”, which will add PayPal functionality to the current Subway App.

To pay in-store or as part of a mobile order, Subway guests will simply select the “PayPal” option, enabling guests to utilize any smartphone or operating system (Android or iOS) to conduct their transaction. PayPal will also be integrated as a payment choice for online orders on order.subway.com. We’re also enabling PayPal’s One Touch™ checkout experience – the faster, easier way to pay -- for eligible consumers checking out online and on mobile. With One Touch, consumers that have opted-in can pay in a single touch without having to type in their PayPal usernames or passwords after initial log-in for 6 month

Though this brick and mortar sandwich shop dates back to 1965, Subway is looking like the mobile hero of the future for QSR. By saving time with preordering and enhancing the overall customer experience with PayPal’s One Touch™ innovative technology, Subway’s partnership with PayPal is a smart combo.

The free SUBWAY® App is available for Android through Google Play and for iOS through the AppStore. The current version offers the following features:

- Find: Use your phone to find a SUBWAY® Restaurant wherever you are

- Order: Place an order and pay ahead and it’ll be ready for pick up in just 15 minutes. Your order history is saved to make it even easier the next time you order

- Pay: Use your phone to pay for your order when you’re in a SUBWAY® Restaurant.

With mobile payment methods on the rise, QSR merchants like Subway are getting in the hands of their customers one app and meal at a time.
