Citigroup is Seeking FinTech Innovation Via the Citi Mobile Challenge

FinTech is transforming the way individuals and institutions engage with money. Keeping this in mind, the Citigroup is searching for developers and designers who can bring the next level of innovation to the company and help change the way the world banks. Citigroup’s goal is to find new innovative FinTech solutions, using the power of Citi’s digital platforms. To achieve this goal, the company has come up with the Citi Mobile Challenge to seek out innovative FinTech developers.

The Citi Mobile Challenge is a global program that aims to accelerate digital banking innovation by bringing together the most talented developers and designers to create cutting-edge financial technology solutions. As part of the program, participants have the opportunity to work on two different kinds of categories:

  • Consumer solutions: Consumers demand great service from their banks. Solutions in this category should help provide them with personalized, intuitive products and services that transform how they think about banking.
  • Business solutions: Develop FinTech solutions for Citi’s business clients. These clients range from small businesses to large corporations and include institutions, organizations and governments. Solutions in this category aim to provide the financial technology tools and services to help these clients fuel progress in their industries.

Participants get access to APIs that power Citi’s digital banking, payments and rewards, along with APIs from leading technology companies that have collaborated with Citigroup for this program. Finalists compete for an opportunity to take their technologies into production with Citi’s support, plus a share of $100,000 in cash awards and a suite of services.

After successful executions in US and Latin America, the Citi Mobile Challenge is expanding to EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa) and APAC (Asia Pacific) regions as well.
