Brickstream acquired Nomi last month, bringing together two known players in the in-store analytics market. This all equity deal has led to entire Nomi team joining Brickstream. Nomi, founded two years ago, started with the goal to bring online analytics to offline businesses. Nomi helps businesses keep track of marketing campaigns that are attracting more customers and also determine which customers are actually making purchases.
Brickstream is already known to have installed 100,000 in-store devices for camera-based analytics. The deal is now helping Brickstream in getting Nomi’s technology into stores as well. Also, Nomi’s analytics tools are a prominent value add-on to the Brickstream platform. The combined platform of Nomi and Brickstream would be highly competitive to other players in the market. Jointly, both the companies have signed 32 clients in past three months. Nomi’s products will still continue to be sold under the Nomi brand.
Nomi provides a range of in-store tools for retailers. Some of the operations include selling Estimote’s iBeacon sensors, Rover’s mobile app software development kit, Privy’s online-to-offline attribution tools and more. Brickstream sells software and sensors that are mainly focused on store traffic, reducing long lines, and traffic mapping. Uniting the two companies’ products will yield a full-service vendor for in-store tracking and analytics.
Brickstream has more than 50 channel partners in 65 countries. Nomi is also bringing compatibility with iBeacon, a Bluetooth low-energy proximity-sensing technology from Apple that’s been gaining popularity lately. Brickstream’s sensors are currently not iBeacon-based. The two companies would give fight to competitors like Euclid and Swarm Mobile.
With more than 100,000 smart devices installed globally, Brickstream has a significant lead over competitors. This deal represents the natural evolution of a tremendously successful partnership. In the past 3 months alone, NOMi and Brickstream have jointly signed and deployed 27 new clients. That number will grow exponentially thanks to Brickstream’s global network of 50 channel partners covering 65 countries, said NOMi CEO Marc Ferrentino in an official press release.
